Nor'Easter 2011

Today we are dealing with a Nor'Easter that has dumped 18" of snow so far and it is still snowing!

Of course, no school.

The kids went outside...for 10 minutes. It is so deep they could hardly move!

Big Sister, Casey, tried to take them sledding......

It didn't last long. Katie got stuck, lost her boots, and couldn't move. Rescue Mission Katie went into effect.

Casey tried to pull her back up hill.

Yup...one of those mornings

I woke up this morning excited for the warm weather. It is supposed to be 70 today! Amazing!

Then I came downstairs and it all changed! It is only 7:00 am and this is what I have incurred already!

  • Hubby complained that we will be in Florida to long. We are staying with his parents from Mon-Mon. He says after 5 days I am done. Guess what? I knew that. However, when I booked the tickets it was $600 cheaper to go the times I picked, than come home on a weekend. He actually had me checking the airlines online and see if we can come back sooner.
  • Tommy whipped his blanket in Katie's face. I took it away. All he had to do was apologize to her to get it back. Easy right? Nope. He would rather cry and complain that he wants his blankie back then say "I am sorry". After doing that for a 1/2 hour he realized he was not going to win and said sorry.
  • Katie sees Tommy crying and tries to aggrivate the situation. She wants the little chair he is sitting in. This sets her off. I try to get her to move and she won't. I move her myself and she kicks, screams and cries. She starts giving me raspberries. (spitting at me) I am SUPER mature and do it back to her because I am ready to crack. It makes her cry and me laugh. She storms off to find Daddy.
  • Casey has her arm wrapped in a splint and sling. She fell off the ladder to her bed and bruised her arm really bad. Yes, right before vacation. This morning she can't find 2 out of the 4 bandage clips. She left for school with one bandage around her arm with the sling. BUT......not before realizing she left her backpack in her Dad's car last night. Did she blame herself? Nope.....it was Sam's fault. UGH
  • Sam is not talking to Chris or I. So that made her quiet this morning.Thankfully. We are awful parents and life with her Dad's is so much better. Even though we pay for EVERYTHING! Yup, anyone who is divorced will verify that kids think your ex, their Dad, is great and wonderful. Even though they owe you $5,000.
ALL THIS AND IT IS ONLY 7:15AM!!!!!

How will I survive the day?

Mini Marathon 09!

Our town is the start of the Boston Marathon. There are always fun events leading up to the big day. On the big day, I usually leave town. There is just way to many people here and the roads close. This year we leave for Florida on that morning! However, the week leading up to it, fun stuff goes on.

The Kenyans usually visit the local elemantry school. That is really cool! After a big assembly, they stay and take questions from the kids. They also usually run the track (or something) with a few select kids. It is neat.

Today, the Moms Group hosted a Mini Marathon! Each kid of an "Official number" and a medal.(that was chocolate!)

Before the race, near the real start line.

READY, SET
GO!!!
Katie would NOT run. She did get a medal though!
I think Tommy ran 2 races!
The highlighter was watching the guys build a new Gazebo. Plus, their Daddy is running the project! Tommy loved showing everyone his Dad in there!

Breakfast of Champions!

Yes, my kids are eating pepperoni for breakfast right now.

There are some days when you don't feel like arguing about food.

This is one of them.

HAPPY DANCE...WAHOOOOOO

THE KIDS ARE BACK TO SCHOOL! *can you see me dancing?*

Oh my, what a loooooong week! They are so lucky to make it back to school in one piece.
Why does New England have so many darn vacations and days off?

Yesterday I hosted a party for my sister who got married in January (on my birthday!)
I had around 40 people here. It was crazy! But well worth it. We saw people who we have never met, people who we haven't seen in years, friends , family and the best was that my parents (after being divorced for many years) were in the same room together and it was ok!
It was a great day.

Disney on Ice and the Cash Cow

Yesterday I took the kids to Disney on Ice. I love those shows. They really do put on a terrific performance. I have taken the kids to many of them over the years.
It was the first show that Kate was old enough to enjoy. It was great to watch her.

The show had Cars, Lion King, Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell.
They get you for EVERYTHING there! It is not cheap. Between parking, food and those darn lights!

Of course you need to get the kids one of those $20 lights...times 2!

Here is Tommy and is BFF with theirs.

Katie and hers (at home)

Then the food. I had Casey and her friend with us. Of course they want soda, Nachos and Cotton Candy.

It was $12 for Cotton Candy......times 2! They did come with some funny (cheap) hats that the kids keep wearing. I wore Kate's for a bit!

They do love those hats. Tommy won't take his off. They were eating dinner with them!
**please do not take notice of the unhealty dinner they were eating, no flaming allowed!**
All and all it was worth it. We had a great time and the kids loved it. And of course, we will go again when they come back.

Everyone Say and Pray together.......

NO PUKING KIDS!!!!

Katie threw up for the 3rd day in a row this morning.

Tommy was extremely tired yesterday and woke up this morning saying "My body feels shy today."

Please pray he doesn't get the stomach bug and no one else in the house gets it.

BACK TO SCHOOL!

Can you see me doing the Happy Dance?

Not only do I love Mondays, when my routine is back to normal. I SUPER love today. The kids are back to school, after having almost 2 weeks off!

However, we have a 2 hour delay. I guess it is icy out there. HOWEVER......we are the only school in my area with a delay. The next closest is almost a 1/2 hour away! What is up with that?

I have a feeling the local DPW dropped the ball. I bet they didn't realize the weather and didn't get out to sand and salt early enough. UGHHHHHHHH!

Today's Project

Today I was determined to make a craft area in the playroom for the kids. They have been using my dining room table lately. It was annoying.

Katie has turned into a Crafting Queen at the ripe ole age of 2 1/2. Tommy used to NEVER like to color or do anything. At school the teachers would say to me "He isn't the most crafty one, is he?" It was always a treat for him to being a picture home. I think seeing Katie enjoying it is starting to change his mind.

It was nothing spectacular I did. But it works! I dug out our 6ft table we use for parties. I covered it then added a few folding chairs we had. And Viola.....the craft area was born!

I bought some organizing stuff. Drawers for the paper, stickers, beads, glue etc.....

The kids love it!

Katie started painting. I had never let her before for fear of wrecking my table. She loved it. She was doing it so nicely.
Then Tommy called me in. She started to finger paint instead!

I am so happy they have a place of their own to color and create!

I met Karla! A fellow May Mommy!

Today was an exciting day for me. I met my friend Karla for a playdate. We have been on Babycenter board together, and now a private board, for 2 or so years. Our little ones are both May 2006 babies. It is amazing how close you can become with these ladies.

We live about an hour away from each other. We finally realized our schedules worked to meet up this week, seeing she is a teacher and she is on vacation. It was so much fun!

I am using some of her pictures too, hers came out better!

Here we all are! Karla, Me, Katie, Tommy and Devin

The kids playing, Devin being cool with his glasses upside down!

This one cracks me up, even though it doesn't look like much. Devin got scolded by Mommy, so he ran to my lap! He had just met me!

LUNCH!
The boys and I. I look kinda weird. But I love the boys with me. I think Devin liked me!

I am excited for our new friendship. I know we will definatly meet again.!
