We were just outside filling up the bird feeder. Tommy asked if he could take some of the seeds to plant and grow a Thistle plant.
Scratching my head, I said ok. I didn't even know what one was, how does he?
This is what it is:
OK....I think it is a weed.
Anyways, I said "Sure".
Really, we all know it won't grow. It was an activity that took him 10 minutes to do. Score!
He dug a hole.
Put the seeds in.
Covered it up.
Went in the house to get some water for it.
The problem........
He came out with his SNEAKER filled with water!
Oh my.......I was laughing so hard! I asked him why. He said he couldn't find anything to put hte water in!
At least he was creative!

You know it is a bad day when......
Your son decides to make a gun out of Duplo blocks in the middle of Church Playgroup. OOPS!
Ummm...ya......
Our local church has a wonderful playgroup that we have been going to weekly for 5 years. For $1 a kid there is 3 rooms of toys, a snack room, craft room and Ms.Vicki comes and plays songs, dances and parachute. She ends it reading a bible based story. That is how my kids get a little bit of Jesus. Please don't flame.
While I was with Katie doing the music, Tommy was playing with some boys in the other room. Typical for moms with more than 1. It is gated off, no one is going anywhere.
I went to check on him and got the "You are HIS mom" glare from a mother.
Come on, we know you have all gotten that one time or another.
I knew something wasn't right. I look over and he was making several guns for the other boys. *sigh* I did put an end to that activity and made him move on to something else.
I wonder if they will let me back in.

What is in your cabinets?
Or worse.....what is in your fridge?
Sam took the initiative to clean out our cabinets, freezer and refrigerator!
She came grocery shopping with me and when we got home, she asked if she could organize the kitchen food cabinet.
Ummmmm.....YA!!!!
I looked over and she had everything out of them and was wiping them down! Holy Cow!
After working on that she moved to the refrigerator!
I crack up at this picture because when I asked her to pose she said "Ugh, is this for your blog?" Oh, she knows me all to well!
After, she has decided to make cupcakes with Tommy for dessert!
Hmm....I wonder what she will be asking for.

Back to Normal!
I think we are getting back to our regular life today. Everyone is feeling good! *knocks on wood*
What a weekend. I like having my Katie Mae back! She was not herself.
This is us in the ER. Such a sad look! (by the way, I was taking these for her daddy and sending the via cell phone. He was home with the others)
By morning she was SOOOOO much better! I bought her a pink etcher sketch. She loved it and was showing anyone who came in the room!
And us waiting for the car to go home. Ice cream makes it all better!

Staying for the Night
They decided to keep Katie overnight. When they did her bloodwork all her levels were really low. They don't feel comfortable sending her home.
I took her to Children's Hospital rather than our local one. I have had such great experiance with the doctors since Tommy started coming here for his asthma. I made the right decision. They have brought her a balloon, a dog in a purse and there is a Leprecan walking around doing magic tricks!
Hopefully we will be home in the morning! Thanks for all the well wishes!

Blogging from the hospital
Poor Katie has not got better. She has been vomiting since Wednesday and has now become dehydrated.
We are here getting an IV of fluids. Hopefully this will make her better abd they wll send us home. Last time we did this she ended up here for 3 days.
Keep your fingers crossed!

Ugh Puke......
Why is it when your husband has a meeting at night, a child starts to puke? Leaving all the clean up to me?
Poor Katie just fell asleep after throwing up several times in an hour. She puked before bed. I cleaned her up and brought her upstairs. She didn't want a story, she just wanted to sleep. Even instructing me to leave her room!
Not 10 minutes later when she is fast asleep, she is puking again. Projectile. Not a pretty sight seeing she had "pigs in a blanket" at dinner time.
The topper, I put clean sheets on her bed today.
She is fast asleep on the couch now. She keeps waking up to throw up. It is going to be a long night.

Easter Candy, why do I hate you so much?
Why is it when you are trying to eat good Easter candy comes out?
It is my FAVORITE time of year for candy. Cadbury Eggs and the Cadbury mini chocolate eggs are my fav. So deadly, especially for a dieting girl.
The new thing I discovered. Cadbury makes Mini Cadbury Cream Eggs. They come in a little package of 12. You can just pop one at a time on your mouth! No mess!

His New Glasses
When we were at the eye doctor yesterday, Tommy got to get a prize out of the Treasure Chest.
He chose some funny glasses. He has been wearing them all day.
In the car
This is heading out to school! He walked in with them on hoping no one would recognize him!
He also walked through the Town Hall with them. He is getting a big kick out of them!
The mustache comes off and he tells us he shaved.

The Eye Dr- Great Results!
Tommy went for his 4 month eye exam today. He has had to wear glasses full time for the past 4 months.
I am happy to say his vision is improving and he doesn't have to wear them full time! Just 2-3 hours a day!
He is SUPER excited to go to preschool without them!

Girls Weekend in NYC...Part 2!
The fun thing about NYC is all the neat thing you see. Even strange. This was going on when we got off the Subway!
Who knew Cookie Monster was homeless and out of a job? Man, the economy is truly in the tank when Cookie Monster and friends are peddling in the Subway!
While Joc went to class, Suzanne and I hit Time Square. We had a blast.
We walked and walked and walked and walked! I was amazed at all the people. I am a small town girl, I am not used to the thousands of people. Even SpongeBob was there!
We went over to Rockerfeller Plaza to see the people ice skate. I said I have always wanted to do this. I totally chickened out. I didn't realize the hundreds of people watching you. The deal breaker? One guy fell and the whole crowd went "OOHHHH"! Yup, I was NOT going to have them watching me and gasping!
When I went to sit and rest my tired feet I met my new husband. 83 year old Miller. He was the sweetest guy. He spoke with a German accent and told me he was from another country......Staten Island. I loved his sense of humor.
Suzanne and I headed back to time square to the wax museum. I think this was one of the funnest things we did. It was amazing at how life like they were.
We had a great time taking pictures. I am sure some of the people around us thought we were crazy.
Suzanne was rocking it out with the Pope!
When we left I had to check out the HUGE McDonalds next door. They had TVs at the tables!
We headed back to the Subway to go to where the Twin Towers stood. I have no words to explain the sadness the area. I personally do not now anyone killed that day. However, it was such a sad experience. It was so quiet there, even with the hundreds of people around. My heart broke looking through the fence knowing what took place that horrific day. I may not have been there for hours, but it had such an impact on me. It made me want to run home and hug my family.
We ended the day with a delicious dinner. We sat outside since the weather was AMAZINGLY warm.
Sunday morning I boarded the train home. Although I sat next to a man who snored the whole way (thank God for iPods!) it was a nice ride. I was excited to see my little kids run to me and happy to see me when I got off.
I can't wait to do it again!

Funny Talents
Do your kids have funny talents? I would love to hear about them!
Tommy has one.......he can hold a Lego guy between his butt cheeks. Yup, talented boy he is! He is VERY proud of himself. He likes to show me several times a day!
***Disclaimer.....he does it with his clothes or undies on. Not bare butt cheeks!**

Girls Weekend in NYC...Part 1!
Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending 4 days with some old friends. We hung out in Elementary and Middle School. I went to a different high school so we didn't see much of each other. We hooked up again of Facebook. We have chatted on an off over the years and have seen each other separately on occasion.
My friends Jocelyn, moved to NYC in January. Her fiance is working there for several months. He was traveling so it was the perfect time for Suzanne and I to invade her space, for some much needed girl time.
This is us together again. We have not been all together in over 20 years!
She lives on the upper west side, 1/2 block from Central Park! What a location!
When we got there we went to Central park and walked her dog and the dog she was dogsitting for. I am not a dog person. I have no pets. I don't dislike them, I just feel I have to many kids to have one. Therefor, I am not one for dog slobber, dog hair and poop picking up. I made this known and told them I will NOT be picking up dog poop when we were out. I have wiped more butts in my 15 years of parenthood.... dog poop was out for me. Not that they expected me to, but Joc was working Saturday and we had to walk the dogs for her.
They agreed and did it themselves!
Friday we hit the East Village (I think!) for some shopping, eating and fun!
This store name just called out to me! Who could resist shoes with a cool name?
We hit a French restaurant for lunch. The owner Daniel was a little smitten by us. We were 1 of 3 tables going. The only all girl one.
Suzanne and I ordered wine. Joc didn't. He was not having that. 1/2 way through lunch he brought her a glass of Champagne. The food was amazing. The best Butternut Squash Ravioli's I have ever eaten!
After we ate I asked him for our check. Instead he came out with more wine and Champagne and put 3 spoons down. We knew we were in for something good. A few minutes later out come 3 different desserts!
Don't they look YUMMY?
Again, when the wine was low....he filled them up. Finally, he brought the bill. We were thinking it was going to be a big one! I looked at it and it was for....get this....$32! NO WAY!
When we were saying thank you and good bye he told us to come back tomorrow for a band. He proceeded to tell us if he wasn't there, go knock on the window of the blue building across the street. That is where he loved. Ummmm....thanks...but no thanks!
We shopped some more. I got some cute boots!
Then we had some Rice Pudding. I never knew I liked Rice Pudding! Did you know there was a place dedicated to it? All different flavors! It was like going to an ice cream shop!
We ended the day with a walk in Central Park and collapsing on the bed, dead tired!
More tomorrow!

I Promise!
I will be back. I have some fun pictures from my NYC trip.
It has been a long week (it is only Wednesday) of sick kids, disappointments and getting life and house back together from being away for 4 days. Why is it people get aggravated when the house isn't clean, but yet I go away and no one even picks up the vacuum???
Anyways.....don't forget me! I will post tomorrow!

No Apologies
It has been brought to my attention that my daughters friends read my blog and do not like certain things I have written.
I will not apologize or delete anything I have ever written. This is a blog about my life and my family, not for the entertainment of teenagers.
I have never ever named names in any issues that my children have had. If you are reading it and know who I am referring to, than you are a friend of hers, know what is going on or are part of the problem. (Especially since I figured out EXACTLY who tried to leave me a comment :] ). The rest of the blogging world and my family don't know.
So continue to read if you want. If you like reading about the life of a stay at home mom and her 4 kids, than so be it. But, do not try to leave me comments about anything that you find offensive, I just hit delete.
And yes, my daughters know I am writing this post.
